- Types of machining: perforation
- Machined materials: paper
- Purpose of machining: blotting paper preparation
- Adventages: cost-effectiveness, high precision and repeatability, high speed, contactless, easy to modify parameters
In the tobacco industry, the perforation method is used to process tissue paper used for rolling cigarettes. Unlike conventional methods using dies, needles or electrodes to punch paper, in the case of laser processing the entire process is carried out in a non-contact, precise, repeatable and fast way. The ease of modification of process parameters (beam power, operating speed) means that production can be easily adapted to new requirements without incurring additional investment costs.
