Guide to laser glasses – the best laser glasses

Eyes are extremely sensitive to laser radiation – that’s why laser glasses are an absolute must for any professional work with industrial lasers. Whether you work with UV, diode, fiber, Nd:YAG or CO₂ lasers, proper eye protection is not a choice, but a necessity. In this article, we have prepared for you a complete ranking of the best laser glasses for maximum safety, comfort and compliance with European standards. Find out which models will work best in your working environment and what to look for when choosing.

UV laser glasses - Ontor model

UV (ultraviolet) lasers emit radiation with a wavelength of less than 400 nm, usually in the range of 180-400 nm. Although invisible to the human eye, UV radiation can be extremely harmful – leading to irreversible damage to the cornea, retina and even causing degenerative changes in the lens of the eye (such as cataracts).

Features:

  • large field of view
  • lightweight construction
  • high degree of protection for the UV range

Protection levels according to EN 207:
180-315 D LB10 + IR LB5 + M LB6Y (OD10+)
>315-532 D LB6 + IR LB8 + M LB10 (OD10+)

Glasses for Nd:YAG lasers - Starlight X2 model

In the range of 900-1100 nm, or near-infrared, which is invisible, yet very dangerous to vision. Even short-term exposure can lead to permanent damage to the retina and lens of the eye.

Features:

  • ergonomic and comfortable to wear
  • wide field of vision
  • adjustable temples

Protection levels according to EN 207:
>900-1100 D LB6 + IR LB8 (OD8+)

Mineral glass safety glasses for fiber laser, co2

Glass filters provide exceptional scratch resistance and excellent optical quality – ideal for work requiring precision and clear vision. If you’re looking for maximum all-around protection for infrared and far-infrared laser work, this model is a definite leader. It’s a great choice for professionals who need one goggle for many types of lasers.

Features:

  • large field of view
  • lightweight design
  • High degree of protection for a wide spectrum

Protection levels according to EN 207:
>685-1250 D LB6 + I LB8 + R LB9 + M LB10 (OD10+)
>9000-11000 DI LB4 + R LB3Y (OD5+)

910-1075 D LB6 + IRM LB8 (OD8+)
>920-1065 D LB6 + IRM LB9 (OD9+)
1076-1085 DIRM LB6 (OD6+)

CO₂ laser glasses

CO₂ lasers are among the most widely used in industry – they emit radiation in the far infrared (IR) range, usually around 10,600 nm. Due to their high power and ability to cut, engrave or weld a variety of materials, they are a robust tool and also a serious eye hazard.

CO₂ radiation is completely invisible to the human eye, yet it can lead to thermal damage to the cornea and lens of the eye, even with very short exposures.

This is why CO₂ laser goggles must have high protection efficiency in the 9000-11000 nm range.

Features:

  • large field of view
  • lightweight design works well with corrective glasses

Protection levels according to EN 207:
5588-11500 DI LB3 + R LB3Y (OD3+)

Okulary do laserów CO₂

Choosing the right laser goggles is not just a matter of compliance with health and safety regulations – it’s first and foremost an investment in health and safety. In our guide, we’ve collected the best models of protective eyewear suited to different types of industrial lasers: UV, Nd:YAG, fiber, diode and CO₂.

Each of the models described meets stringent EN 207 standards, offering high attenuation levels (OD) over a specific wavelength range. Whether you need protection from UV (180-400 nm), Nd:YAG (1064 nm), or CO₂ (10,600 nm) lasers, you will find here a recommendation of a proven model that will ensure your complete safety and comfort while working.
